Zurich is famous for being one of Europe's most relaxed cities, renowned for it's clean and well-planned urban areas and it's friendly citizens.  Located as it is on the River Limmat just north of the Alps, Zurich has a cooler climate than southern European cities and can be particularly cold in winter.  Skiing is a popular past time in the area and there are a number of ski-resorts in easy driving distance of the city centre.  Zurich has a number of fantastic museums and sights to take in and has recently become a favourite with tourists.  The Künsthaus Zürich has one of the world's best art collections (including work by Picasso and Munch), whilst the Grossmünster was the church at which Reformation pastor Huldrych Zwingli preached.  The church of Fraümunster is also highly regarded, as is the clock of Saint Peter.  Further afield from Zurich are the towns of Winterhur, Lucerne, Basel and Interlaken, all easily reachable by car.
